Goldberg returned to the ring for the first time in 12 years back at Survivor Series in 2016 and was able to defeat Brock Lesnar before he went on to defeat Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship a few months later.
Goldberg proved that he was still able to step into the ring against some of the best wrestlers of today but decided to leave once again after he was defeated by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.
Goldberg has refused to close the door on a future return to the company and as part of a recent interview with Inside The Ropes, the former Universal Champion stated that he wouldn’t say no to a future match with The Deadman.
“I would like to have [a match against The Undertaker] if it came available and it was right and people wanted it I’m still capable of doing it.”
“Because once I sit here and say that it’s a match I’d like to have it means I’m asking for it,” he said via Ringsidenews. I’m not asking for anything. I’m just saying if the cards fell right it… I wouldn’t say no.”
Undertaker makes his return to WWE as part of the Australian Super Show-Down on October 6th and will face WWE COO Triple H for the final time. There is currently a lot of speculation surrounding The Undertaker’s future and whether or not he will battle John Cena at this year’s Survivor Series, which will be 18 years since his debut.
Goldberg isn’t someone who has been part of the conversation with The Deadman in recent years, but he appears to be throwing his hat in the ring if the opportunity arises.
