As promised, The Good Brothers Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows made their IMPACT debut during Slammiversary. But they weren’t the only former WWE stars who made an impact on the show.
The Good Brothers closed the show, doing a run in to help Eddie Edwards, the new IMPACT world champion. After the duo chased off Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, they celebrated with Edwards in the ring.
The camera then left the ring to show EC3, who smashed a drinking glass against a wall. Like Gallows and Anderson, EC3 had been let go by WWE in April. He has teased a return to IMPACT, a company he formerly worked for when they were TNA. He’s in fact a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
The Slammiversary World Championship match was to have been a four-way elimination match between Edwards, Trey, Ace Austin and a mystery competitor who turned out to be a returning Rich Swann.
However, Eric Young (also a former TNA turned WWE star who was released in April) turned up to make it a five-way.
Probably the WWE April release who had the best night on IMPACT was former NXT wrestler Deonna Purrazzo. She is now the new Knockouts Champ, defeating Jordynne Grace.
