As we recently reported, WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan gave the WWE Universe a scare, posting on his Instagram that he had spent Thanksgiving in the ICU.
Duggan is now out of the hospital and doing okay. As he explained during an interview with TMZ Sports, his wife had convinced him to visit the hospital after a feeling of tightness in his chest began to lead to difficulty in breathing.
Duggan had initially believed that the chest tightness was due to a torn pectoral muscle. He had actually just flown back home from some engagements over the weekend.
“I flew up to New York on Sunday for an autograph session and flew back Sunday night. I had a little tightness in my chest, and of course some years ago I tore my pectoral muscle and never had it fixed, so I thought that was the problem. Well, I drove back from Virginia on Monday, and Tuesday night I was trying to move some boxes for my daughter and I’m like, ‘I cant believe how out of shape I am! I can’t walk up the stairs carrying a box.’ I was really having trouble breathing, ‘ recalls Duggan.
According to Duggan, going to the hospital and seeing all the medical personal connecting him to medical machines was a terrifying experience.
“I’ve been relatively health my whole life and never had a heart problem. And all of a sudden, all these people with masks on are seriously working on you. It’s pretty terrifying! They told me my heart had gone in to AFib, which is not a life threatening deal,” said Duggan.
Duggan is now out of the hospital and in good spirit, despite the diagnosis. If you want to hear all his comments, check out the video below.
