WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race is reported to be facing the toughest fight of his life, this time against lung cancer.
News about Race’s sickness first broke last Saturday (March 2), when reports broke of another WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair telling fans at a “Legends of the Ring” event in Atlantic City that Race had terminal lung cancer.
WrestlingInc.com, published a series of Tweets from a Jay Alletto who was in attendance during the Atlantic City event. Here is the Tweet where he talks about what Flair said:
In a follow up report, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood’s David Marquez also tweeted about Race’s condition, saying that he had spoken to Race’s family.
According to Marquez, Race’s family has confirmed that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer but that it was not terminal.
“He’s being treated and supervised by his doctors. He is still very active in @worldleaguewlw and appreciates everyone’s concerns,”.
World League Wrestling also issued their own statement about their founder and owner’s health on their Facebook page.
“There are many things being said about the health of the owner of World League Wrestling – Harley Race. At this time, he asks that fans please respect the privacy of Mr. Race and family. He appreciates all the concern from fans all over the globe, but until he chooses when to address situations – he is wanting his personal life to remain personal.
They repeated their request for privacy on their Twitter.
