Heath Slater recently joined Impact Wrestling following his departure from WWE back in April. Slater made his debut at Slammiversary and is continuing his free-agent gimmick on Impact.
Slater spoke with TVInsider recently and revealed that several WWE personnel are just waiting for their contracts to run out so that they can join him at Impact.
Slater spent more than a decade with WWE and had a final appearance on RAW in July, where he lost in a quick match against his former friend Drew McIntyre.
Heath compared WWE to being in the military and asked the guys to just wait out their contracts.
“They know when they are locked down under contract, they can’t get out. That’s the bottom line. You may have well signed yourself up for the military. But guys that did get released and guys from other companies have been texting and calling and asking about Impact.”
“The WWE crew, some of them have been like, ‘Man, that would be awesome to do this, But I still got a year-and-a-half or another year.’ I’m like, ‘Remember what you’re saying because years go by pretty fast. So if you really want to, I might know a guy.’ The interest is there for sure”
Slater lobbied for his former Social Outcasts partner Curtis Axel to join the company. Several other WWE stars such as Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Eric Young, and Deonna Pazzaro had joined Impact recently.
