RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey could be making history at WrestleMania 35 by becoming the first woman to ever main event a WrestleMania event. However, she’s not alone.
Former WWE Divas Champion and 6-time WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair would be joining Rousey in the opposite corner of the ring if the dream match does end up main eventing WrestleMania 35.
With the two women on different brands, it seems quite infeasible to see them battling each other in the ring. But there is still one major stop left to the Showcase of Immortals that could make the match possible – Royal Rumble 2019.
With Roman Reigns out of the picture, Rousey vs. Flair may be the front-runner to headline next year’s WrestleMania.
Giancarlo Aulino of Barnburner reports that WWE already has a plan up its sleeve to make the match happen.
The Queen is slated to win the Women’s Royal Rumble Match next year thereby switching brands to challenge Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship – quite similar to how Asuka won this year’s inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble and switched to SmackDown Live to challenge Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Charlotte, however, defeated Asuka and crushed her undefeated streak at WrestleMania 34.
At this point, Rousey is scheduled to face SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at Survivor Series while Flair has been proposed to become the captain of the SmackDown Women’s Team.
It would be interesting to see if Flair does end up jumping brands next year. What’s important is that WWE needs to bring in a top Superstar that can replace The Queen on SmackDown Live if the brand switch does take place. It could be the most-deserving Sasha Banks from RAW who has gone down with Charlotte in first-ever kind of matches on the main roster.
