22 years ago in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Hulk Hogan formed the New World Order (nWo) with Kevin Nash a.k.a. Diesel and Scott Hall a.k.a. Razor Ramon. The faction revolutionized professional wrestling once and for all, dominating the promotion, winning championships and recruiting some big-time legends in the industry.

Eric Bischoff, Randy Savage, Scott Steiner, Rick Rude, The Giant, Mr. Perfect are some of the big names that joined the legendary nWo. NBA stalwart Dennis Rodman was also a part of the stable at a certain point.

It was due to nWo that WCW beat WWF/E in the Monday Night Wars for 84 straight weeks.

Hogan believes that the nWo (Hogan, Nash and Hall) would bludgeon The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose) if a fantasy match happened between the two iconic factions.

The Hulkster told TMZ:

“We would murder the bums, brother. We would kill them.

“We laid the ground rules for taking short cuts. We laid the ground rules, there’s no substitute for victory.

“I used to wrestle with Roman Reigns’ dad. You’ve seen the pictures of me holding Roman Reigns as a baby.

“Come on. We taught them almost everything we know.”

The nWo last appeared in WWE at WrestleMania 31 where they came out to Sting’s aid in his match against Triple H. DX (Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, X-Pac and Shawn Michaels) and nWo brawled at the ringside and in the end, The Game emerged victorious in a No Disqualification match.

The Shield made their main roster debuted in 2012, dominated the competition, won championships, and took out Superstars/icons like The Undertaker, The Rock, John Cena, Randy Orton, Big Show, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Ryback and The Miz.

Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose remained undefeated in Six Man Tag Team action for five months since their main roster debut and defeated some of the biggest stables in WWE history such as Evolution, The Wyatt Family and The New Day. The Usos were the first to pin their cousin Reigns.

The Shield will take on the team of Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre at WWE Super Show-Down on October 6, 2018 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Strowman at Hell In A Cell on September 16, 2018. WWE legend Mick Foley will be the Special Guest Referee for the hellacious match.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Rollins and Ambrose will challenge Ziggler and McIntyre and Dolph for the RAW Tag Team Championship this Sunday at the pay-per-view event.
