Impact Wrestling has slid down as the No.2 promotion in the United States, but the company is always trying to make their shows exciting with innovative content.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company was set to bring back former MMA star Chael Sonnen for a brief feud with Ken Shamrock.
There were discussions regarding the same, but Sonnen eventually decided against coming to the promotion. Shamrock and Sonnen have both competed in UFC with decent success and a rivalry between these two could’ve intrigued the fans of the promotion.
The company had quite recently managed to get The Rock, albeit via satellite, on their show, during Shamrock’s Hall of Fame induction.
There were also talks to bring back former star Kurt Angle during Bound for Glory, considering he is out of contract with WWE, but nothing materialized.
