Injury Update: WWE United States Champion Jeff Hardy

It was reported last week that reigning WWE United States Champion Jeff Hardy had been dealing with a nerve injury. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer noted this week that the Grand Slam Champion is also dealing with an injury in the leg. This explains why Hardy has been limping at WWE house shows and also the reason behind the Creative putting the United Champion in short multi-man matches. It is to be noted that Hardy has not been performing the (in)famous Swanton Bomb at a few recent shows.

The leg injury is reported to have cropped up during Hardy’s ring entrance on 5/17 during a dark match after SmackDown Live/205 live.

Meltzer further revealed that the nerve injury has caused Hardy’s fingers to go numb similar to what Jason Jordan was dealing with before WWE decided to pull him off television so that the kayfabe Kurt Angle son could undergo surgery.

As of this writing, it’s still unclear the severity of the leg injury and nerve issues and Hardy might drop the United States Championship to treat his injuries if things go further south for him.
