“It’s a Difficult and Unpredictable Time” – John Cena Confirms That He Will Return to WWE in the Future

WWE recently confirmed that this year’s WrestleMania would take place over two nights in April and would need to call in some big names.

John Cena was part of the WrestleMania announcement and there was a belief that the former World Champion would be part of the show, but Cena confirmed that this wouldn’t be possible in a recent interview.

Since the former Champion is working on projects outside of the company including filming The Peacemaker series in Vancouver, he’s unable to leave and quarantine in order to work with WWE.

That being said, Cena appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where he revealed that despite the recent announcement, he is looking forward to making his WWE return eventually.

“Oh yeah, I will [be back in WWE]! I just, unfortunately, you know… the state of the world, I mean, I’m not sitting there on the couch next to you. It’s a difficult and unpredictable time, and right now, I’m doing this. I’m filming ‘Peacemaker’, and that’s going to take a lot of my time, and I can’t bounce back and forth due to international restrictions. So at least for the time being, I’m here, and I’m still away from WWE, but I very much look forward to returning as soon as I possibly can.”
