On this Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown, Jeff Hardy faced Samoa Joe in a qualifying match for the first-ever WWE World Cup tournament to be held at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view.
Hardy defeated Joe to move on, but before facing the Destroyer, the Charismatic Enigma posted an interesting video of himself training for the match.
In an Instagram post, Hardy shared a video of himself training at the Hardy compound. Jeff was preparing for his match against Samoa Joe, by going up against another “Joe.”
Hardy’s opponent in the video, which was captured by his brother Matt was billed as “The Ferocious Smokin’ Joe” and, as you can see from the video below, he put up quite a fight and challenged Hardy strongly.
And Smokin’ Joe also happens to be a kangaroo.
Jeff Hardy is known for his unorthodox style and lifestyle, so it’s no real surprise that his training methods might be unorthodox as well. But they were effective as Hardy beat Samoa Joe handily during their World Cup qualifying match.
Hardy showed an unexpected aggressive streak, going after a tweaked knee on the Samoan Submission Machine. Joe was deemed by the official as unable to continue and the bell was rung, awarding Hardy the victory.
Meanwhile, the night’s other World Cup Qualifying Match between Big Show and Randy Orton, ended a bit more “normally”. The Viper was able to hit the RKO and pin the Big Show to move on in the tournament.
