Two WWE Hall of Famers are expected to be on the next episode of SmackDown Live.
WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler, took to Twitter to announce that he will be hosting a segment of “King’s Court” this Tuesday with another Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus.
The appearance of both Hall of Famers for the “King’s Court” segment has been confirmed by the WWE.
While what the two might be talking about during the segment, or what else they might be doing on SmackDown has yet to be officially elaborated on, the fact that Stratus will be on SmackDown ties in neatly into some earlier rumors about her possibly being involved in this year’s SummerSlam.
SummerSlam will take place in Toronto, which is Stratus’ hometown, so an appearance during the show wouldn’t be out of the question. What is getting people really excited though is the rumor that it is not merely a SummerSlam appearance, but a SummerSlam match that is in the cards for Stratus.
Rumors state that the plan is for Stratus to face Charlotte Flair during SummerSlam. Flair has yet to have an opponent named for SummerSlam but, during last week’s SmackDown, she cut a promo demanding a match on the show and stating that her opponent would be a better one than Ember Moon, who is currently set to challenge for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship held by Bayley.
Stratus retired from regular in-ring competition in 2006, but she returned to the ring in 2018. First for the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble, then for a tag team match during the first all-women pay-per-view Evolution.
