Seth Rollins was part of a Q&A earlier in the week alongside his girlfriend Becky Lynch where he was asked where about a match with Kenny Omega at WrestleMania in the main event.
Rollins responded: “When Kenny’s done playing in the minor leagues over there, and he can come and work at the absolute top professional wrestling company in the world, in front of the most people and make the most money and have the biggest matches which is with me at WrestleMania.”
Of course, this comment didn’t go down well with WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW commentator Jim Ross, who reacted to Rollins’ comment on his Grilling JR Podcast earlier today.
It appears that Ross wanted to respond in a similar way because he brought in the fact that Rollins’ isn’t as over as his girlfriend and current Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
“Rollins is in a great spot. He’s blessed. Maybe some day he’ll be as over as his girlfriend, I don’t know. Nonetheless, I’ve always liked his work. He’s a solid guy, he’s a solid guy. But saying things like that make him look bad and for that, I feel badly,” he said via Sportskeeda.
Ross also went on to comment on the fact that he believes that Rollins is making these kinds of comments to gain favor with some of the bosses in WWE as well as pointing out that the current Universal Champion isn’t in a position where he should be making these kinds of comments.
“I don’t know what the answer is. But for a top talent that’s been blessed with great health right now and making a ton of money, and dating the hottest woman in the business, arguably by many… Man, what have you got to b**** about? Are you kidding me?”
AEW went on to fire a number of shots at WWE as part of Dynamite this week, which could have been in retaliation to the comments that Rollins made a few days prior to the show.
