The wrestling world was shocked and saddened earlier today when it was revealed that wrestling legend Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart had passed away.
The 63-year-old former Tag Team Champion’s cause of death wasn’t immediately revealed when his death was confirmed by WWE, but TMZ has recently stated that his cause of death was a fall at his home which impacted onto his head and led to seizures and convulsions.
Per Pasco County Sheriffs Department, it was confirmed that there was no foul play suspected since the fall was thought to have been the main cause of his untimely death.
“Preliminary information indicates that [Neidhart] fell at home, hit his head, and succumbed to his injury.
“No foul play suspected. No additional information to release at this time.”
The father of WWE star Natalya is best remembered for being the muscle of The Hart Foundation in the late 1980s and early 90s alongside his brother-in-law Bret Hart, who has already spoken out following his passing.
Neidhart also had brief stints in TNA and WCW in his lengthy career and is widely regarded to be one of the legends of the business.
Neidhart has been featured on a number of episodes of Total Divas over the past few years where it was shown that his daughter was worried about his physical condition and was pushing him to adopt a much healthier lifestyle.
It is reported that Natalya isn’t expected to be part of tonight’s episode of RAW or SummerSlam this weekend following the news, despite the fact that she has been a key factor in the build-up to the match between Ronda Rousey and Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship on Sunday night.
