This weekend, reports surfaced that two WWE Superstars were injured during WrestleMania 36.
According to Ringside News, one half of the tag team The Usos, Jimmy Uso will be out of action for about 6-9 months due to a knee injury.
The knee injury is believed to have occurred during the ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 36. It’s believed that this is why The Usos were removed from the tag team championship scene after WrestleMania.
Jimmy and Jey are not part of the Money In The Bank pay-per-view which will see a Fatal 4-Way tag team match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Instead, the current champions The New Day will be defending against Miz and Morrison, The Lucha House Party, and newcomers The Forgotten Sons.
It’s possible that, if Jimmy had not been injured, the Usos would be in the match instead of The Forgotten Sons who were just called up from NXT. No word yet if WWE plans to keep Jey active during the time Jimmy is out.
We last saw Raw Superstar Kevin Owens during WrestleMania 36, where he won a No Disqualification match against Seth Rollins.
While there was some speculation that Owens was not featured in WWE TV as he went back to his home in Quebec and was reluctant to fly or perform due to COVID-19, it seems like it might actually be because he is injured.
Owens gave an interview on RDS in Quebec where he revealed that he has been taking time off to deal with an ankle injury.
According to Owens, he believes it is either a sprain or a slight fracture and it occurred when he jumped off the WrestleMania sign and drove Rollins through the announce table.
Owens told RDS in Quebec that he’s not sure how long he might be unable to compete but he is set to take an x-ray to determine how severe his injury was.
