16-time World Champion John Cena could be making his much-anticipated return to WWE TV pretty soon.
Cena is returning to in-ring action on December 26 for the first time since WWE Super Show-Down.
The Leader of Cenation will work a series of live events commencing on December 26 – a busy return schedule that extends to the middle of January. However, there are two dates on Cena’s return schedule that have raised a lot of eyebrows.
In his tweet, Cena announced himself for January 7 in Orlando and January 14 in Memphis with both dates falling on a Monday. It appears that The Champ could be appearing on Monday Night RAW after a very long time.
Cena had earlier stated that none of the shows on his return schedule would be televised which is quite interesting given two of his dates already coincide with Mondays.
The 13-time WWE Champion is currently being advertised for his scheduled dates and is also listed on WWE’s website. Cena would most likely be replacing Braun Strowman at the live events for The Monster is currently rehabbing from an elbow surgery.
Cena has kept Hollywood on his windshield since declaring himself a free agent in 2017. In 2018, The Franchise has worked only two televised matches for WWE since WrestleMania 34 – one at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April and the other at Super Show-Down in October.
WWE officially kicked off its holiday tour this week and pre-taped next week’s episodes of Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live. There won’t be any tapings over the next two weeks due to holidays and it’s in January that the shows will go live again.
Cena returning to WWE TV on the very first Monday Night RAW of 2019 would definitely be a great New Year surprise for the WWE Universe.
