16-time World Champion John Cena has been working a limited schedule with WWE and last performed at the Super Show-Down pay-per-view event in Australia. The wrestler-turned-Hollywood star has been largely absent from WWE TV in 2018 but was recently reported to be making his in-ring return on Boxing Day.

Cena would be hitting the road with WWE late December and right now more dates have been added to his return schedule. “The Franchise” has only worked two televised matches for WWE since WrestleMania 34 – a singles match at Greatest Royal Rumble and a tag Team match at Super Show-Down.

Cena currently has his hands full with various Hollywood projects, and with more dates now added to his upcoming WWE schedule, it appears that the Leader of Cenation would be having a very busy holiday season as well.

The “Bumblebee” star is now wrapping up filming for Jackie Chan’s movie titled “Project X”. Fans can expect Cena to be back in/after January to set his WrestleMania 35 storyline in motion.

The Champ is currently being rumored to be a surprise entrant in the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble match. Given how Rey Mysterio shocked the world at the 2018 Royal Rumble by entering the match at #27, Cena’s lengthy absence from WWE TV will actually make his PPV return far bigger and far more meaningful.

Cena confirmed his WrestleMania 35 status a month ago, but it’s yet to be seen who he will step in the ring with come April 7, 2019
