Ryan Satin confirmed on the Satin Sheet segment of WWE Backstage that former Intercontinental and Tag-Team Champion John Morrison is officially returning to the company. Morrison has signed an undisclosed deal with WWE, and his official return to the ring is yet to be confirmed.

Satin confirmed the rumors of Morrison signing with WWE which broke out a few months ago. Morrison himself refuted the rumors at that time, but it seems like the Tough Enough winner is indeed rejoining the WWE roster after he confirmed his return with a tweet.

WWE officially confirmed the signing on their website, noting that the superstar had signed a multi-year contract with the company.

This is the announcement on WWE.com stating the arrival of the Guru of Greatness.

“John Morrison is headed back to WWE’s squared circle after agreeing to a multi-year contract with WWE.”

“The Guru of Greatness is set to bring his Hollywood style back to WWE for the first time since 2011. A former Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion, Morrison is still fondly remembered by the WWE Universe for his unique and exciting in-ring style, which was influenced by his extensive background in parkour.”

Morrison last wrestled for WWE in 2011 and left the company to pursue a career on the independent circuit where he found tremendous success. Wrestling under different monikers of Johnny Nitro, Johnny Mundo, Johnny Impact, etc, Morrison found great success in every promotion he stepped foot in.

Morrison competed in Impact a few months ago, and ever since his contract expired, rumors of him switching ship to WWE or AEW were circling around the wrestling community.

The panelists at WWE Backstage talked about Morrison’s return, hyping up his eventual debut on RAW or SmackDown. Christian compared Morrison’s return to his own, saying time away from WWE helps an individual to become better.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Morrison could be returning at Survivor Series weekend, but it never materialized.
