John Morrison was recently rumored to have signed a deal to return to WWE, and it seems like those reports were completely false. Morrison is currently wrestling in IMPACT as Johnny Impact, and his deal with the company ends quite soon.
Morrison was reported to sign a deal by PWInsider.com, and the website even tweeted this story on Twitter. However, this caught the eye of John Morrison who quickly laughed at this rumor, thus, denying it indirectly.
Morrison also asked PWInsider to inform him when he signs with ROH or AEW. The tweet by Morrison is quite interesting as several websites have already posted out the story of WWE resigning Morrison, and now they are under the radar of the former Intercontinental Champion.
The whole drama could be a major work, as Morrison is simply trying to hide his return to the company. Jeff Hardy pulled a similar stunt two years ago when he completely denied the rumors of him returning to WWE. Hardy returned at WrestleMania 33, along with his brother Matt Hardy and won the RAW Tag-Team championships.
John Morrison’s wife tweeted that the rumors about his husband were ‘astounding’. Morrison left WWE in 2011 and found tremendous success in the independent scene.
Morrison was the backbone of Impact for close to two years, where he won the World Championship. John Morrison had a stellar career in WWE for half-a-decade, where he won the IC title, Tag-team belts, and ECW World Championship.
WWE is known to sign superstars during the draft season, which measures the rumors regarding Morrison quite likely. WWE has also brought back superstars like Sasha Banks, Luke Harper, Rusev, and Brock Lesnar before the upcoming draft.
Hopefully, the whole thing is a work and we get to see Morrison inside the WWE ring for one final run.
