AEW presented the first night of Fyter Fest this week, with several title matches and other rivalries being settled inside the Squared Circle. The action is set to continue with Night Two of the event, which is scheduled to take place next Wednesday.
The very first match advertised for AEW Fyter Fest, Jon Moxley taking on Brian Cage, will, unfortunately, be delayed due to Moxley’s absence from AEW television.
Cage vs Moxley was supposed to main-event next week’s episode, but it will now take place on AEW Fight for the Fallen on July 15th.
Moxley’s wife and WWE presenter Renee Young, tested positive for the coronavirus last week, which led to Moxley staying away from AEW programming. Although Moxley has tested negative, he will not be appearing as a precautionary measure, which has delayed the match-up.
The title match will now be replaced by another championship encounter, as Hangman Page and Kenny Omega will defend their tag-team titles against Private Party.
Page and Omega retained their titles over Best Friends in the main event of this week’s episode, and will once again put their titles on the line next week. Private Party defeated Santana & Ortiz with Matt Hardy by their side.
Chris Jericho will take on Orange Cassidy next week, while FTR and Young Bucks will square off against Butcher, Blade and the Lucha Bros.
Nyla Rose will face a mystery opponent, while SCU gets a chance at revenge against the Dark Order. Lance Archer will look to destroy Joey Janela, while the card rounds up with the tag-team encounter.
