Jon Moxley vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. Announced for BloodSport 5

AEW’s Jon Moxley has been announced for BloodSport 5 next weekend. The former AEW World Champion will be facing off against Davey Boy Smith Jr.

The Jon Moxley vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. match was announced right after BloodSport 4 which was held this Friday (February 13).

The Bloodsport events mix wrestling and MMA fighting styles in matches inside a ring without ropes. The matches can only be won by knockout or submission.

This will be Mox’s second Bloodsport match after he beat Chris Dickinson during Bloodsport 3 last October. Moxley was booked for Bloodsport 2 back in 2019, but he had to back out due to a staph infection.

Smith Jr. competed last Friday in Bloodsport 4, defeating Calvin Tankman. Smith Jr. is the son of WWE Hall of Famer, The British Bulldog. He was part of WWE from 2006 to 2011. He is also known for his work in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Noah, and MLW.

Smith Jr. officially left MLW last December and is currently a free agent.  He recently confirmed that he is seriously considering returning to the WWE on either NXT UK or NXT.
