Justin Roberts Signs AEW Contract
Former WWE ring announcer, Justin Roberts, is now officially part of AEW. Roberts posted on Instagram that he has officially signed a contract or “Khantract” as he put it, with AEW.
“The Khantract has been signed and it’s officially time to begin, again,” writes Roberts.
“Thank you to every one of you who has supported me over the years and asked me to ‘come back’. And thank you to AEW for believing in me. Tony, Cody, Nick, Matt, Kenny, Brandi, Dana, Chris’ and Co. have created something so special and as a fan and as an announcer, I am beyond excited and HAPPY to be part of it,” he adds.
Roberts was released from WWE back in October 2014.
Christopher Daniels Suffered Stinger On Dynamite
AEW’s Christopher Daniels will reportedly miss some ring time after suffering a stinger on the last episode of AEW Dynamite.
Daniels, who is part of the tag team SoCal Uncensored with Frankie Kazarian, was supposed to be in a match for the first round of a tournament for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Before their match, they were attacked by the Lucha Bros.
Daniels reportedly suffered a stinger after taking a package piledriver on the ramp. He was pulled from the match and replaced by Scorpio Sky.
His tag team partner, Kazarian, posted on Twitter that Daniels had been diagnosed with a pinched nerve and would be “out of action for a while”.
Daniels also Tweeted about his status, stating that injuries are “the worst” but vowing that he would be back as he had “unfinished business.”
Luchasaurus Reveals Which WWE Star Inspired Him
Luchasaurus was a guest on the Talk Is Jericho podcast recently where he talked a bit about his career so far, from the indies to AEW.
According to the AEW star, his character was inspired by WWE’s Kane, especially when it came to wrestling with a mask.
“Kane was actually the first guy I tape studied when I got the mask. I immediately went to Kane. My vision was to be the new-age Kane,” he said.
He admits that selling with a mask can be difficult but he studied the way Kane did it, how he moved and acted, and is now very comfortable with the mask as his gimmick.
“I can be this monster who walks around and be a character. That was the first step to help me not feel so self-conscious and having to impress people and I realize that actually the look itself is impressive and I can kind of get away with that now,” he said.
