Kane was named the Mayor of Knox County in Tennessee earlier this week and he stated at the start of this year that it would be hard for him to juggle both a career in politics and a career as a wrestler.
The Big Red Machine recently spoke to Rolling Stone Magazine about whether or not he is going to return to WWE now that he has bigger responsibilities.
“WWE is always going to be part of me and hopefully I’ll always be part of it,” he said via WrestlingInc. “I haven’t ruled out making special appearances every now and then. My main priority is being mayor, of course.”
“[My role in the WWE] does bring a lot of attention to Knox County, so that’s cool. It’s just a matter of making sure everything I do — WWE or any other outside stuff — does not impact my role as mayor.”
It appears that Kane will be making a few appearances for WWE in the future if the company needs him to return for a special occasion but he won’t be working for the company on a touring schedule at any point in the coming years.
Kane was part of The Royal Rumble earlier this year and WrestleMania when he participated in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal before he then returned to be part of the storyline with Daniel Bryan.
He teamed up with his former partner to take on The Bludgeon Brothers to fight for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at Extreme Rules, where Kane was attacked backstage and was then revealed to have broken his ankle so he only played a small role in the match.
