Kenny Omega: “NXT Is The Lower Card While AEW Is The Main-Event”

Kenny Omega is definitely one of the top stars of All Elite Wrestling, and will undoubtedly become the No.1 guy in the company soon. Omega recently spoke on Dropkick Diskussions, and talked about the upcoming NXT-AEW war.

‘Wednesday Night Wars’ is already a major talking point in the wrestling industry, and WWE has fired the first shot with a spectacular showing of NXT this week. However, Kenny Omega doesn’t feel that there is any war between the two promotions.

The Cleaner said that AEW superstars are at a higher level compared to their NXT counterparts, who are simply a part of a ‘developmental’ program.

“You can call it a war if you want. To me, we’re in a completely different kind of business. What they’re doing is different from what we’re doing and it’s weird because it’s hard to say that you’re going to war with people that I call my friends and yet we are going to war.”

Kenny Omega went on to diss the NXT talent even more, and said that NXT superstars would be in the opening match of a show, while Omega would main-event that event.

Yet, when I sit back and look at the grand picture, it’s like I’m going to war with these dudes that if we were on the same show together you know, the same show with the same promotion — let’s pretend there are no wars. Let’s just pretend there are no promotions, let’s just pretend there’s one big promotion if they were on the same show as me they’d be in the dark match, they’d be in the opening match and I’m in the main event match.”

Omega is not known to mince his words, and this was definitely a major shot fired at WWE. Omega’s dislike towards WWE is not a secret, but this time he went out of the way to bury NXT.

Hopefully, Omega and AEW don’t end up writing checks with their mouth which their butts cant cash in.
