Kenny Omega Officially Announced for This Week’s Impact, One-Off Appearance to Lead to Crossover

Impact Wrestling is confirming that AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will be on this week’s episode of Impact.

Omega won the championship from Jon Moxley with the help of long-time friend and Impact’s Co-Vice President Don Callis during last Wednesday’s “Winter Is Coming” episode of AEW Dynamite.

They quickly left the arena but not before they teased an Omega appearance on Impact Wrestling this Tuesday.

While all reports and rumors since have assumed that Omega wasn’t “joking” and that this might be the start of an official working relationship between AEW and Impact, there is now official confirmation from Impact Wrestling that Omega will be on this week’s episode.

On their official Twitter account, Impact has posted a graphic showing Omega holding his AEW title. Behind him is Don Callis, who appeared on AEW’s Winter Is Coming and helped Omega win the title.

The Tweet then goes on to remind people that they can watch Impact this Tuesday at 8/7c on AXSTV.

Meanwhile, an exclusive report from Wrestling Inc. is stating that Omega’s appearance is a “one-off” but will be setting up a crossover which will see Impact stars coming to AEW.

According to Wrestling Inc., the relationship between Impact and AEW isn’t going to “be that intertwined”. Omega’s appearance is largely a favor to Callis and was approved by AEW President Tony Khan.

Another thing that is reportedly approved is an appearance by the Good Brothers, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows, on AEW for a match.

Omega’s Impact appearance is likely going to set up the Good Brothers crossing over to AEW to face a team that Wrestling Inc.’s sources have yet to identify, but they believe it could likely be the current AEW Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks.

They are also reporting that Callis’ contract with Impact is coming up next month and it is likely that he would then move to AEW full-time to work as an on-screen manager for Omega.
