AEW superstar Kenny Omega is having the best year of his life. He’s working as a wrestler, Executive Vice President, a gaming entrepreneur and has recently also started a fitness supplement brand.
Omega is one of the best wrestlers WWE wasn’t able to sign as Tony Khan made the deal with The Cleaner.
Recently, Omega talked to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. where he was asked about his retirement plans and during the conversation, Kenny revealed that he almost retired back in 2015.
He revealed that he was having severe issues with his neck and his body wasn’t performing well. Omega thought his time had come and he won’t be able to wrestle soon. This was way before he could become a global phenomenon in wrestling as the leader of NJPW’s Bullet Club.
“I remember right before we did the AJ Styles turn. But earlier on in the year before, I had a very terrible herniation in my neck. It was the first time I ever had asked for time off in professional wrestling. I lost all power on the right side of my body and I thought that that was it. I thought that I was going to have to wrap it up and maybe I was already sort of winding down. I was able luckily enough to to turn it around.”
