Kenny Omega Wants an Unsanctioned Tag Match With KENTA

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is challenging AEW President Tony Khan to set up a match where he can tag with NJPW’s KENTA.

During the closing moments of AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, KENTA made a surprise appearance to attack his rival, Jon Moxley.

Moxley holds the IWGP US Championship, while KENTA holds a contract to challenge for that title. The two are set to clash in February during NJPW New Beginning USA 2021.

Moxley had just been in a match with PAC and Rey Fenix where they lost to Omega and the Good Brothers (Impact’s Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows). A brawl broke out between the six men and another AEW star, Lance Archer, came down to face the Good Brothers.

It was after Archer came in that KENTA made his presence felt, laying out Moxley with a Go To Sleep.

After the show, Omega caught up with KENTA as he was leaving Daily’s Place. Both Omega and KENTA have been part of the NJPW faction Bullet Club, but not at the same time.

KENTA did not want to talk to Omega, stating that he was only there for Moxley. Omega then turned to the camera where he demanded AEW President Tony Khan to give him an unsanctioned match where he and KENTA would face Moxley and Archer.

“You want me to show here every week and risk my life, Tony?” said Omega.

“Next week, I’ll smoothing things over with my newly found friend, KENTA, and if you got the guts, Tony – make it a tag match. In fact, well, he’s not contracted by this company, so I can’t see how you could sanction this. Make this Lights Out, Falls Count Anywhere, something in my wheelhouse,” said Omega.
