For the first time, a match on AEW Dynamite will be made available on the NJPW World platform.
As officially announced on NJPW Global’s Twitter, the tag match with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and NJPW star KENTA facing off against AEW’s Lance Archer and Jon Moxley will be available for NJPW fans to watch on their platform.
The tag match on this week’s Dynamite was a “Falls Count Anywhere, Anything Goes” and stems mainly from the animosity that Omega, who beat Moxley for the AEW World Championship, and KENTA have for Moxley.
Moxley is currently the IWGP United States Champion, while KENTA is the challenger for that championship. The two are set to fight for the championship on February 26 during the New Beginning USA 2021 event.
Last week, KENTA made the unprecedented move of “crossing over” and appeared at the end of AEW Dynamite to attack Moxley. This week’s tag match was set up afterward.
The match on this week’s Dynamite and the fact that it will be made available on the NJPW platform is being taken as another hint that the “forbidden door” is more or less open and NJPW and AEW will be collaborating more in the future.
