Kevin Owens Reportedly Set To Return At The Royal Rumble

Kevin Owens has been out of action since the night after Super Show-Down in October where Owens was attacked by Bobby Lashley following their match and written out of the show with a knee injury.

The former Universal Champion has since undergone double knee surgery and has been rehabbing the injury over the past few months. Owens’ expected return date was estimated to be around February, but there are reports now that Owens could be part of the Royal Rumble if he can be cleared in time.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, reported that WWE currently has plans to put Owens into the 30-man Battle Royal on January 27th, but only if he can be cleared in time.

This week on Raw, WWE confirmed that Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are expected to make their returns to the company in the coming months, but Zayn underwent double surgery on his two torn rotator cuffs back in the summer, whilst Owens had double knee surgery, which is why they have both been sidelined.

Monday Night Raw has been lacking big stars over the past few months, ever since the likes of Owens, Zayn and Roman Reigns were sidelined, which could be why there are many new faces being added to the brand in the coming weeks.

The six NXT stars who were announced as future call-ups to the main roster are expected to make their debuts on WWE TV ahead of the Royal Rumble, which means that this new era in WWE could be off to a fantastic start with new additions to both SmackDown and Raw in time for the pay-per-view that ignites The Road To WrestleMania.
