Dean Ambrose was once part of the most popular WWE stable in the company when he was aligned with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in The Shield, but after a number of shocking creative decisions, Ambrose opted against renewing his WWE contract last year and walked away following WrestleMania back in April.
The Lunatic Fringe’s contract officially ended in May, which meant that he was well within his rights to appear at AEW Double or Nothing a few weeks later and emerge under his original Jon Moxley persona.
Despite becoming one of All Elite Wrestling’s biggest stars and enjoying the freedom that the company allows compared to WWE, Kurt Angle told GiveMeSport that he still firmly believes that Dean Ambrose will return to WWE one day.
“I don’t follow AEW, but I get wind of it, Dean wanted a change and an adjustment. Maybe he felt he wanted to work less and felt that he wasn’t being appreciated.”
“He made the decision for himself and if he feels it’s the right decision I’m happy for him but WWE is the biggest company in the world at it will continue to be. I believe Dean will be back.”
The most important saying in WWE is “Never Say Never” much like many fans believed that CM Punk would never return since the self-proclaimed Best in the World noted many times that he wouldn’t return to WWE after the way he was fired. That being said, he’s edging closer to a return and could be part of the upcoming Royal Rumble match.
Dean Ambrose is married to Renee Young, who still currently works for WWE, which means that there is a good reason for Ambrose to walk through that curtain again one day, as long as there is a decent storyline in place.
