During a fan Q&A on Facebook, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed his favorite cinematic match.
“Cinematic”, pre-taped WWE matches have been a creative way for the WWE to create unique matches and keep people guessing now that they are no longer able to have live shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first cinematic matches were filmed for and shown during WrestleMania 36 and included AJ Styles vs The Undertaker in a Boneyard Match, John Cena and The Fiend in a Firefly Funhouse Match, and Randy Orton vs Edge in a Last Man Standing Match.
Of these three matches, Angle picked the Boneyard match as his favorite.
“I enjoyed Firely Funhouse and Randy vs Edge,” he said. “But the Taker vs AJ match was my favorite because Taker deserved a match like that near the end of his career.”
According to Angle, he has been suggesting that the Undertaker face AJ Styles since last year’s WrestleMania.
Angle was released from the WWE back in April, but he seems to have no hard feelings and has even continued to do some work for the company, notably with Matt Riddle.
