Last week on Monday Night RAW, Commissioner Stephanie McMahon sent General Manager Kurt Angle on vacation, but didn’t specify how long he would be on vacation for, but did make Baron Corbin the acting General Manager in his absence.
There has been a lot of speculation that this has been done so that Kurt Angle can train to make his return to active competition, with the thought being that he could go on to face Baron Corbin or even Brock Lesnar in the near future.
Angle was reportedly backstage in Toronto for last night’s RAW, which has led to rumors that the Olympic medalist won’t be out of action for very long, Mike Johnson recently revealed on PWInsider Elite Audio that it will be a short stay on the sidelines for the former World Champion.
“Kurt Angle was backstage at Monday Night RAW last night,” he said via Ringsidenews. My guess is that his vacation from television appearances will not be a long one, he’ll be back maybe by Hell in a Cell. Maybe sooner.
“He [Angle] is also training heavily for a return to the ring. Obviously, there is some sort of idea for Kurt to return to the ring. The natural idea at this point would be Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin.”
The acting General Manager Baron Corbin made a match between himself and Finn Balor last night on RAW and mid-way through the match changed it to be a no-disqualification so that he would use a chair to pick up the win.
It appears that The Lone Wolf is having a lot of fun at Angle’s expense and it will definitely be coming to a head at some point in the future.
