AEW’s Lance Archer has tested positive for COVID-19.
Archer was supposed to be part of a 6-man tag match on AEW Dynamite, but the announcement of his positive test resulted in the match being pulled.
According to Archer, he must have gotten infected by a family member who got it from a friend.
“When I returned from our last show, a family member was ill,” he said. The family member had met with a friend who had tested COVID positive.
“While at home, now I’ve also gotten sick, tested positive,” said Archer. “I feel ok, expect to see me in two weeks.”
It appears that Archer contracted the virus at home, so AEW does not seem to be worried that this is an outbreak in the company like what recently happened at NXT.
Archer was set to team up with Ricky Starks and Brian Cage against current AEW Champion Jon Moxley, Darby Allin, and Will Hobbs.
Cage also felt ill enough to Tweet that he would not be at the show. It has not been specified what Cage is ill of, but it is not thought to be COVID-19.
