WWE held its first all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution last year and made headlines worldwide. The show turned out to be a huge success and the semi-main event match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch also set the tone for the main event of WrestleMania 35.
Former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia was part of the history making night as she played an active role throughout the show. She was announcing the matches just like old times and fans loved to see her back in the role, even it was a one-off gig.
While speaking to DailyDDT, Garcia noted that she would love to see WWE holding another Evolution PPV.
“I would love to see it come back.”
“I think the women proved that they can hold a pay-per-view on their own, but if not, I don’t think that’s a bad thing either in the fact that the women are now present in every single pay-per-view. It’s almost not even needed if it doesn’t come back. Either way, I think it’s going to be okay.”
Ever since Evolution took place, fans began speculating whether it’s going to be an annual event like other pay-per-views. While there’s no official word on whether Evolution will be making a comeback this year, let’s keep our fingers crossed for good news.
“I just think it was beautiful to do it and establish it that very first year just to make a statement and from there the company has continued to… I mean, think about it, the women main evented WrestleMania this year. That’s the way you continue that.”
“They’ve continued with the Money In The Bank matches, the ladder matches, Elimination Chamber, all those kind of matches that keep showing off the women’s capabilities. I think it’s great, and like I said, whether they have another one or not, I don’t think that’s a big deal.”
Ronda Rousey headlined Evolution as the RAW Women’s Champion but now that she isn’t around anymore, reigning champion Becky Lynch could very likely be the one to headline Evolution 2.0 with her precious red belt.
