Administrator of the Small Business Administration of US, Linda McMahon has made it clear that she had no role in WWE’s controversial decision to proceed with Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
WWE revealed the controversial decision as part of its Q3 2018 Results last week despite huge backlash and mounting pressure from fans, US Senators and talent owing to the Khashoggi murder case.
Linda holds office under the Donald Trump administration, the 45th United States President who is good friends with CEO of WWE Vince McMahon. Thus, it was a good question to be thrown at Linda given the numerous reports of Trump’s cross-border business relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Linda told TMZ:
“If you wanna talk WWE, you’re talking to the wrong McMahon.
“I don’t run it and I’m not responsible for it … ya gotta talk to Vince.”
Although it was pointed out that WWE is a family run business, the former CEO of WWE appeared to be aloof and insisted that she doesn’t run the company anymore.
It’s possible that Linda didn’t play any part in the Crown Jewel decision since she left WWE in 2009 to join politics.
WWE’s decision to proceed with Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia has led to two superstars namely John Cena and Daniel Bryan remove themselves from the show.
Cena was scheduled to participate in the inaugural 8-Man WWE World Cup while Bryan was to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.
Although WWE did make replacements by bringing in Bobby Lashley and Samoa Joe, the two top superstars pulling out of Crown Jewel says a lot about the current situation in the company.
Crown Jewel takes place on November 2, 2018, from the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The show will air live on the WWE Network.
