WWE Hall of Famer Lita first made her mark on the company as part of the high-energy trio known as Team Xtreme.

Back in the early 2000s, Lita, along with Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy thrilled audiences with their daredevil stunts in the ring and their charisma outside the ring. Now, Lita is poised to make her singles-match return going against Mickie James during the all-women pay-per-view Evolution.

During a recent interview with Planeta Wrestling, Lita was asked about her thoughts on the current roster of WWE superstars. Specifically, she was asked about who she thought might be able to form a modern day Team Extreme, a subject she was quite enthusiastic about.

“There’s so much you can do with a tag team and a woman especially when there’s another trio involved,” said Lita.

“They could create a lot of pairings with another female for an opponent. I think they got to a little bit of that when it was Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, and Natalya. Then Naomi and The Usos make a great team,” she added.

According to Lita, it’s the latter trio who she would love to see as the new Team Xtreme.

“Probably as far as athleticism and excitement to watch I’d go with that,” she said.

Currently the WWE mostly keeps their men’s and women’s division separate, though that’s starting to change with the advent of mixed matches and the Mixed Match Challenge.

Lana, the Bella’s, and Zelina Vega also mix wrestling and managing their partners or significant others. But there has yet to be a regular mixed trio on RAW or SmackDown.
