Main Roster Superstar Invades NXT To Team With Former Tag Team Partner

Over the past few weeks, NXT Live events have been the place to be since a number of main roster stars have decided to head back to their roots and surprise the NXT crowd.

Luke Harper made a shock return a few weeks ago when he unsuccessfully challenged Ricochet for the North American Championship, whilst Tyler Breeze has also appeared for the brand numerous times over the past month whilst he awaits a creative push on Raw.

NXT’s Live Event in Orlando last night contained another huge shock as Cesaro made an appearance as part of the show to team up with his old Indy’s tag team partner Kassius Ohno.

The video above shows that Cesaro came in to make the save as part of Ohno’s match against Adam Cole, as the crowd chanted “Kings of Wrestling” which is the name that Ohno and Cesaro became known under throughout their time together from 2005 to 2011.

Many of the stars who have been spotted down in NXT in recent weeks have been there because there is nothing for them on the main roster and the company wants to give them a chance to wrestle.

Cesaro’s case is a little bit different since he and his Bar teammate Sheamus take on The New Day in a week’s time in Australia at Super Show-Down for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, which is why his appearance was such a huge shock.

This little detour down to NXT by the former Intercontinental Champion just serves to prove that if Cesaro and Sheamus ever reach the point where they decide to split, then there is always another partner that The Swiss Superman can call upon for backup.
