On the March 10th installment of Backstage in WWE, BodySlam’s own Brad Shepard highlighted that WWE is in talks of having Carmella finally cashing in her Money In The Bank Contract at Wrestlemania 34 in a losing effort.
Carmella, with the aid of James Ellsworth, won the Money In The Bank Contract for the first time on June 18 at the Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View. The match ended in a controversy and WWE booked a rematch on the June 27th episode of SmackDown Live where Carmella once again won the Money In The Briefcase. However, this time also Ellsworth got involved in the match-up.
With time running out for the Princess of Staten Island, Carmella had already teased of cashing in her MITB briefcase on various occasions on SmackDown Live. However, this time WWE is actually looking forward to have her cash in her contract at this year’s Wrestlemania.
Shepard further went on to explain how Carmella has knowledge regarding the fact that she isn’t going to be champion with the title being in the hands of Asuka, which makes Wrestlemania 34 her ideal time to cash in the Money In The Bank briefcase.
According to Ringside News, Shepard explained, “Carmella, I’m told could very well cash in her Money in the Bank at WrestleMania and lose.”
“Well apparently from what I’ve heard she’s okay with it. She’s down to do it. She basically knows Asuka is going to be champ and she doesn’t have a chance of winning the championship from her so it’s kinda like, ‘You might as well make the most of losing. Why not WrestleMania?’”
