Maria Kanellis is one of only four female wrestlers in WWE at present who were given their start in the company through the annual Diva Search back in the early 2000s, Maria, Maryse, Brie, and Nikki Bella were all part of the contest and have all since left WWE and made their return.

Maria was mostly used as a backstage personality throughout her first run in WWE,  but when she returned to the company at Money in the Bank last year alongside her husband, she became his on-screen manager.

Mike Kanellis started his WWE career brightly in a feud with Sami Zayn, but reports that he wasn’t being favored by Vince McMahon were made public and Maria then left her husband’s side when it was revealed that she was expecting their first child.

Fredrica Moon was born earlier this year and Maria was prepared to start working out ahead of her in-ring return before she revealed on Instagram a few months ago that she had broken her wrist.

With WWE Evolution, right around the corner, it was believed that she could rehab the injury and still be back in WWE on time.

Maria revealed on her podcast “Mike and Maria in Wonderland” earlier this week that she has been training for a return to the ring for the past month and as of last Wednesday the doctors have officially cleared her.

With all the mixed tag team action going on in WWE right now, Mike and Maria could easily slot back into the main roster and Maria is then free to pick up an interesting feud heading into the first ever all-women’s pay-per-view in less than four weeks time.
