Finn Bálor will square off against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WWE’s upcoming and first pay-per-view of 2019, Royal Rumble.
Although Lesnar is believed to reign supreme, fans are still rooting for Bálor to walk out of Chase Field with the big red belt on January 27.
On Sirius XM Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry discussed the strategy Finn should follow for his high-voltage title match.
“You look at the match Brock had with Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle, guys that were smaller than him, one of his Achilles heels is endurance,” said Henry.
“Finn is gonna have to take his endurance to task. Hit those legs, move around, make Brock chase him. Do some high flying stuff onto the floor. He has to tire those legs like Rocky 3 when Mr. T got tired and became immobile. That’s what I see happening for Finn if he can put that work in.”
“It took Bryan too long [to do that]. Daniel played with Brock because he’s crazy. Finn isn’t crazy, so he has to take it to Brock.”
There’s a lot to be taken into account regarding the upcoming Universal Championship match. With Seth Rollins standing as the most favorite to win the Men’s Royal Rumble bout and headline WrestleMania 35, it doesn’t really matter if Brock is replaced by Finn in the main event title picture on April 7.
With Brock’s status for WrestleMania 35 now confirmed, he can wrestle Braun in a non-title match at ‘Mania with Bálor and Rollins clashing for the Universal Title.
The Road To WrestleMania is yet to kick off and with Rollins seemingly coming off as the constant in the title picture at WrestleMania 35, it wouldn’t matter if it’s Bálor or Lesnar across the ring at the MetLife Stadium given both men are fan-favorites.
Again, The Kingslayer has verbally roasted Brock for quite some time now, hinting at their potential WrestleMania feud, so all directions point towards Lesnar retaining at Royal Rumble and walking into MetLife Stadium with the Universal Championship.
