Melina Confirms Talks With WWE, Knee Injury Keeping Her From Wrestling

Former Divas Champion Melina was the subject of several reports last year which claimed that she was re-signing with WWE.

In a recent interview with Wrestle Talk she addressed those rumors and stated that, while there were talks between her and WWE, she did not re-sign.

“It was talks of a return. Talks of seeing if it was possible and all that stuff. Everyone made such a big deal out of it,” she said.

According to Melina, what seems to have kept those talks from coming to anything was the fact that she had a bad knee and that was keeping her from wrestling.

She did add, however, that she wasn’t sure she would have been re-signed even if her knee was okay.

“Who knows if I didn’t have a bad knee if they would have signed me?” said Melina. “Or you never know, if I had a good knee they wanted to see it I was open to it, but probably not get signed.”

“That’s just the way wrestling is. It’s never a guarantee,” she concluded.

Melina was last seen in the WWE full-time, back in 2011. She has however appeared as a “legend” in backstage segments these past few years.
