WWE star Mia Yim has tested positive for COVID-19. Yim, who is part of the Raw faction, Retribution, and goes by Reckoning, was rumored to have tested positive for COVID-19 on social media.
While she initially denied these rumors, it turned out there was a grain of truth to them.
In what is apparently a case of either a false negative or proof as to how easy it can be to be exposed to COVID-19, Yim had initially been negative for COVID-19 but a test taken shortly after which turned out positive.
“This morning at around 10:30 am, I debunked a rumor stating I was positive with COVID,” said Yim in a tweet.
“I was negative last week. I got tested this afternoon, less than an hour ago and it came back positive,” she added.
According to Yim, she had been getting tested every week for several months and this was the first time she had a positive test.
She ended by asking people to respect her privacy and reminding them of the importance of staying safe as well as washing their hands and wearing a mask.
Yim had been on the last episode of Raw, where she was ringside for the match between Retribution stable mate Slapjack and New Day’s Xavier Woods.
It’s possible that she had gotten tested and had a positive result in preparation for participation in this Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
