Five-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James broke her nose during a match and will be out of action for several weeks.
James had only just returned to in-ring competition in WWE this August, after suffering a knee injury that required surgery in July 2019.
James revealed her injury when she was a guest on the “GAW” show, which is hosted by former Impact Wrestlers SoCal Val and former WWE and TNA women’s champion Lisa Marie Varon.
“I had my nose broken recently in a match, so I can’t wrestle for a few weeks,” said James. What had happened was, after the swelling went down, I noticed that this whole side of my nose was completely caved in.”
The realization that something might be wrong made James go to a doctor who told her that she had broken her nose.
According to James, the cartilage had been dislocated from her nasal cavity and needed to be relocated.
This could be disappointing for many as James seemed to be in consideration for a storyline with the current Raw Women’s Champion Asuka.
James had confronted Asuka and the two had actually had one title match already, on September 14, which unfortunately had a botched finish as the referee had believed James was injured.
