Mickie James has been out of action since she underwent ACL surgery in July but while she heals up, she’s begun to take a new role, this time at the announcer’s desk.
Wrestling Inc. caught up with James recently and asked her about her surprise return to television as part of the commentary team for the latest edition of WWE Main Event.
“I was surprised WWE offered me the opportunity but very excited to jump on board,” James said.
She joined Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin in calling the action for the tapings done in San Francisco, however, both have now been moved over to RAW. While it seems James may stay as a commentator on Main Event, for the time being, there’s no word who will join her.
“I guess this makes me the veteran of Main Event huh?” said James.
Sasha Banks Needed Stitches After SmackDown Match
The opening event of the first SmackDown on Fox saw Sasha Banks teaming with Bayley against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
The four women put on a great physical match that left the crowd happy but apparently also was rough on at least one of the participants – Banks.
Banks got her lip busted open during the match and, in an Instagram story, shared a photo of her lip which was stitched up.
Banks is set to face Lynch again at Hell In A Cell for Lynch’s WWE RAW Women’s Championship. Lynch referenced Bank’s injury in a Tweet of her own, which you can see below.
