Mike Tyson Returning to AEW Dynamite, Matt Jackson’s Status After Double or Nothing

Mike Tyson made his first-ever appearance for AEW at Double or Nothing PPV when he presented the brand new TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes. Tyson also got involved in the matchup, when he prevented Jake “The Snake” Roberts from introducing a snake into the ring, leading to Cody’s win over Lance Archer.

This appearance wasn’t one-off as the Iron Mike will be returning to AEW this week, with his first-ever appearance on AEW Dynamite on May 27. There was no information on what the former boxing champion will be doing on the show, but it would probably be a segment involving the new TNT Champion Cody. Tyson supported Cody throughout the match at DON.

Mike Tyson is said to be a fan of AEW and was backstage at Double or Nothing 2019. Tyson stepping out during this pandemic for AEW is quite a telling move, and the company has made a fantastic ally in the WWE Hall of Famer.

There will be a battle royal this week on Dynamite to determine the next challenger for Cody Rhodes’ TNT Championship. Also announced for the show is a pep talk from the Inner Circle, who are coming off a loss at Double or Nothing at the hands of The Elite.

The Elite’s leader Matt Jackson came into the match with broken ribs, after injuring himself during the go-home show of Dynamite last week. Jackson entered the match sporting a heavily taped frame. AEW had to replace Fenix and Britt Baker due to their injuries, but Jackson made it to the event.

Jackson’s wife posted an update on Instagram, and said that apart from the ribs, he is doing absolutely fine.

“My husband is CRAZY πŸ˜¬πŸ™ˆ So thankful he’s okay (besides a broken rib)… that match was fun, but also super stressful to watch last night!!”

Matt Jackson had several big spots during the match, including a leap from the top of a goalpost.
