Mike Tyson To Appear At AEW Double or Nothing, Stadium Stampede Match Announced

The build for AEW Double or Nothing continued on this week’s Dynamite episode, as several matches were added to the PPV after the events on this week’s show. AEW will be broadcasting the PPV with the empty-arena format, and the card looks quite good so far.

After the three already announced title matches, AEW added a number one contender match for the Tag Team Titles, a Stadium Stampede Match between the Inner Circle and The Elite, and a singles match between Kris Statlander and Britt Baker.

Chris Jericho challenged the Inner Circle to a Stadium Stampede matchup, which was accepted by the Vanguard 1 on their opponent’s behalf. Jericho once again asked the drone to join his team and then proceeded to crush it with a baseball bat.

There are no details on the Stadium Stampede match, but it will mostly be taking place from the Jacksonville Jaguars home-stadium, which was seen last week during the main-event match between Matt Hardy/Kenny Omega and Le Sex Gods.

Another major announcement that took place during the episode was the arrival of Mike Tyson to AEW. Considered one of the best boxers in history, Tyson was a household name during his peak and even appeared in WWE during the Attitude Era. Mike Tyson is also a WWE Hall of Famer after he was inducted during the Class of 2012 as part of the Celebrity Wing.

Tyson will be presenting the TNT Championship, which will see Lance Archer take on Cody Rhodes. It is unlikely that Tyson will get into a confrontation, but it will be interesting to see if he has any more role to play. AEW also brought out another WWE Hall of Famer, Bret Hart, to present the first-ever AEW World Championship during AEW All Out last year.

Current Card for AEW Double or Nothing

  • AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley(c) vs Brodie Lee
  • TNT Championship: Cody vs Lance Archer
  • No DQ for AEW Women’s Championship: Nyla Rose(c) vs Hikaru Shida
  • Stadium Stampede Match: The Inner Circle vs The Elite
  • Casino Ladder Match for future title shot: Orange Cassidy vs Darby Allin vs Fenix vs Colt Cabana vs TBA
  • Kris Statlander vs Britt Baker
  • MJF vs Jungle Boy
  • Best Friends vs Private Party
