WWE usually kicks off the “Road To WrestleMania” with the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, but this year it seems that the company has actually kicked off with 2 months still left for January’s epic PPV.

With a recent announcement, WWE has made the Mixed Match Challenge and Royal Rumble even more exciting to watch. As per the announcement, the winning team of the WWE Mixed Match Challenge Season 2 will enter the respective men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches at #30, the most favorable and sweetest spot for winning a Royal Rumble match.

This turns out to be a major deal as Superstars on the Mixed Match Challenge will now take the tournament more seriously and have a worthy prize to fight for.

The announcement has made the WWE Universe further speculate as to which team could end up winning the ongoing season of Mixed Match Challenge. Since the final entrant during the Royal Rumble match has gone on to be the winner over the past few years.

Keeping the “final-entrant-becomes Royal Rumble winner” theory in mind, fans have been able to eliminate the least favourable team/Superstars to win Season 2 of the Mixed Match Challenge from the equation.

The upcoming Royal Rumble PPV  is scheduled to take place on January 28, 2019. The announcement may seem unfair to those Superstars who were not selected for the Mixed Match Challenge, however, this is clearly a strategy on part of WWE to boost viewership as numbers have severely gone downhill from Season 1 on Facebook Watch.

Last season’s winner Team “Awe-ska” consisting of The Miz and Asuka seems to have missed out on a golden reward that is expected to only get bigger this season onwards.

However, this shouldn’t bother Asuka for she created history by becoming the first woman to win the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble this past January. As for The Miz, well…he’s awesome!
