MMA’s Two Horsewomen Sign Deals With WWE

WWE announced yesterday that two of MMA’s 4 Horsewomen, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke have signed deals with the wrestling promotion juggernaut. These two recent signings mean that all the 4 Horsewomen are now under WWE deals. WWE also declared that Duke and Shafir have reporting for training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The 4 Horsewomen comprising of former UFc Bantamweight Champion, Ronday Rousey, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir had been earlier pitted for a much anticipated match against WWE’s 4 Horsewomen viz. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley at the Mae Young Classic in 2017. However, WWE went with a different plan for Ronda at Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 34 while Baszler climbed the NXT ladder.

It is to be noted that 16-time WWE Champion, The Nature Boy Ric Flair had earlier hyped the match between MMA’s 4 Horsewomen and WWE’s 4 Horsewomen. With all the 8 female athletes now under WWE’s wing, it is speculated that the company might do the 4 Horsewomen vs. 4 Horsewomen match at WrestleMania down the line.

MMA Record of MMA’s 4 Horsewomen:

  • Ronda Rousey : 12-2
  • Shayna Baszler : 15-11
  • Jessamyn Duke : 3-5
  • Marina Shafir : 1-2

Noteworthy mention: Marina Shafir is the spouse of WWE NXT Superstar Roderick Strong with whom she has a son, Troy, who recently turned one year old.
