The second annual Women’s Royal Rumble takes place as part of the pay-per-view of the same name next month and it appears that even though the women are yet to be announced for the show, there is already a clear favorite for the match.
Asuka made history when she won the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble earlier this year and then went on to face Charlotte at WrestleMania when she chose to battle for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, a match that she lost.
Despite Asuka’s WrestleMania title shot not going to plan, WWE has already confirmed that there will be another Women’s Royal Rumble as part of next year’s show since the winners of the Mixed Match Challenge will be given the number 30 slot in either match.
According to Sky Bet, there is already a clear favorite in the betting odds, with former Women’s Champion Charlotte the front-runner. She’s closely followed by Becky Lynch who is the 5/4 favorite and Alexa Bliss, who rounds off the top three with 14/1 odds.
The winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble will go on to face the Women’s Champion of their choice at WrestleMania and it’s interesting that Becky Lynch is now seen as one of the favorites for the match since she holds the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
The most likely scenario for the match at present sees Charlotte and Ronda Rousey battle it out in a Champion vs Champion match at The Royal Rumble, where Lynch wins the women’s match and opts to fight the former UFC Champion at WrestleMania.
Of course, this would mean that Charlotte would have to win the Women’s Championship at TLC when she battles both Lynch and Asuka next weekend.
