The New Day was once again represented by Kofi Kingston and Big E this week on Friday Night SmackDown as they defended their Tag Team Championships against former Champions The Revival. This was The New Day’s chance to prove that their win wasn’t a fluke, but sadly it didn’t go down the way that they had hoped.

It looked as though The New Day could be heading towards victory and retaining their Championships until The Undisputed Era interfered in the match between the four stars to continue the build-up to their match against The New Day at Survivor Series.

This means that the match ended in a no-contest since The Undisputed Era attacked both teams to send a message to the SmackDown roster who later made their way to the ring to fight off the intruders. The fact that there were no official winners in the match means that The New Day retained their Championships by default.

The Undisputed Era weren’t the only stars who invaded Friday Night SmackDown since Nikki Cross vs Bayley was invaded by the women of NXT. Instead of this ending in the same controversy of the tag team match, Sasha Banks took the microphone and challenged Rhea Ripley, Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, and Mia Yim to a tag team match.

Dana Brooke, Carmella, Sasha Banks, and Nikki Cross then took on the four women from NXT, while Shayna Baszler and Bayley disappeared into the crowd.
